The most beautiful book in the world
The 2022 "World's Most Beautiful Books" selection was announced in Leipzig, Germany on March 10. Although still affected by the global new crown epidemic, the "World's Most Beautiful Books" organizing committee, the German Book Art Foundation, received more than 500 book entries from nearly 30 countries and regions this year. After careful selection by the international jury, 14 works were finally selected to be awarded the title of "World's Most Beautiful Books" in 2022.
Founded in 1963, "The Most Beautiful Book in the World" is a global book design annual selection event hosted by the German Book Art Foundation. It is committed to evaluating the unique charm of books from the perspective of professional design. Participating book works must first obtain the country in which they are published. and regional selection awards, or can be recommended by a team of professional experts.
At the beginning of February this year, five judges screened the shortlisted works from nearly 30 countries and regions at the German National Library in Leipzig, and then selected 14 winning books through online discussions and online final evaluation. China, Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Japan, Austria, Ukraine. This year's Gold Character Award and a Gold Award were both won by the Netherlands. China's "Water: A Collection of Works by Wang Muyu" won this year's "World's Most Beautiful Book" honorary award.
