Types of labels
Labels are classified into many types according to their functions, materials, printing methods, and placement methods on packages or goods.
(I) Classification by function
1° Trademarks Trademarks are the brand of goods. The design and use of trademarks involve aesthetics, product promotion and sales knowledge, as well as trademark laws and regulations. They are under the unified management of the trademark management department. Trademarks must be registered and can only be used after obtaining permission. They are also protected by law.
2° Cargo labels Cargo labels are labels attached or tied to transport packages. The contents include: transport number, consignor, consignee, departure station, arrival station, cargo name and number of pieces, etc. They are generally made of paper, plastic or metal sheets.
3° Hang tags Hang tags are active labels, usually made of cardboard, plastic, metal, etc., and are hung on goods with lines, ropes, metal chains, etc., with brief product descriptions and patterns printed on them. Some product certificates are also hung on goods in the form of hang tags.
4° Other labels In addition to the above three types, there are labels with various other functions.
