Restricting Excessive Packaging Requirements for Food and Cosmetics
On April 12, the national standard publicity and implementation meeting of GB 23350-2021 "Restriction of Excessive Packaging Requirements for Food and Cosmetics" was held in Beijing. Entrusted by the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standard Committee) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, this conference was hosted by China Packaging Federation and National Packaging Standardization Technical Committee. The purpose of the meeting is to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization, promote relevant units to fully understand, master, apply and implement standards, reduce resource consumption and the generation of packaging waste from the source, accelerate green and low-carbon development, and help achieve the "dual-carbon" goal .
Packaging is an important part of promoting resource conservation and recycling. Enterprises are the main body of standard implementation. Food, cosmetics and packaging enterprises must comply with the relevant provisions of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste and the standard of “Restriction of Excessive Packaging Requirements for Food and Cosmetics”.
