The first unlabeled beverage in China is launched. How far is the unlabeled era?
Recently, the first domestic unlabeled drink made a low-key appearance. Both Master Kong Iced Black Tea and Master Kong Sugar Free Ice Black Tea have launched label-free PET bottle packaging featuring the low-carbon concept in the Master Kong Beverage flagship store. According to public information, this is also the first time that a domestic company has launched an unlabeled beverage product.
It is understood that the above-mentioned low-carbon version of the unlabeled product is still in the water testing stage, and only involves two products of Master Kong iced black tea and sugar-free iced black tea. The price is the same as the traditional product, but it can only be sold by the box.
At the same time, in order to facilitate consumers to drink a single bottle after purchasing the whole box, the unlabeled beverage bottle also uses laser printing technology to identify the product name and shelf life and other information. Although the use of laser printing places higher requirements on the process, the problem of ink printing contamination is avoided.
Although only a small beverage label is missing, there are major issues of environmental protection and carbon reduction behind it. According to the data, PVC occupies a considerable proportion in the heat shrinkable film labels of domestic PET bottles. In the process of recycling PET beverage bottles, PVC labels need to be sorted, which increases recycling costs.
Obviously, once unlabeled beverages are popularized in the domestic consumer market, it will inevitably have an impact on the supporting printing and packaging enterprises. Although it is impossible for unlabeled beverages to be fully rolled out in the short term, since the market has sent a signal, companies focusing on beverage label printing should still be vigilant and take the initiative to include business extension and expansion in their corporate development plans to avoid being caught off guard.
