Classification and characteristics of packaging machinery
Packaging machinery, in a broad sense, includes all the mechanical equipment used in the packaging. It is generally divided into two categories: namely, machinery used for processing packaging materials or containers and machinery used for completing the packaging process. In a narrow sense and by habit, packaging machinery usually refers only to the latter. The definition of packaging machinery in our national standard "Packaging Terminology·Mechanical" (GB/T122.2-1996) is: "Machines that complete all or part of the packaging process." As mentioned above, packaging machinery used for the packaging process is divided into 11 categories. They are filling machinery, filling machinery, sealing machinery, wrapping machinery, multi-functional packaging machinery, labeling machinery cleaning machinery, drying machinery, sterilization machinery, strapping machinery, and container packaging machinery, auxiliary packaging machinery and equipment, etc. Machinery used for processing packaging materials containers can be divided into 7 categories, including corrugated paperboard processing machinery, paper box processing machinery, composite material processing machinery, bag making machinery, plastic container processing machinery, metal container processing machinery, and glass container processing machinery, etc. This type of equipment includes machinery and equipment for the manufacture, printing, and container of synthetic packaging materials, and its output value is often higher than that of the former type of packaging machinery. In the United States, it has become an independent industry called converting machinery, which means that raw materials are converted into packaging containers through processing, printing, and molding. This type of equipment is highly specialized, and most of are complete production lines with high production efficiency, which is closely related to the process and raw materials, with large investment but good benefits
